Before there were fish, there was water. And before there was DROID, there was Devour. Thats right, the Motorola Devour was slated for release before the DROID, but something unknown slowed it down. But it appears that the device will still debut on Big Red, and hears the kicker...running Android 2.1! Now this is great news, but why did the DROID ship with 2.0 and get an update to 2.0.1 if 2.1 was so close to being ready? Is this why the Devour was held back, so it could release with 2.1? With Sprint reporting that their devices will get 2.1, will the DROID get some love in January?

According to some recent information, Sprint is reporting that their HTC Hero and Samsung Moment devices will skip Android 1.6 and 2.0 and head straight to 2.1! This would be great for the device owners and bring some much needed love to two powerhouse devices.

One of the largest Taiwanese computer manufacturers Asustek is part of a project to bring an affordable robot with interactive capabilities to children. The kicker is that the robot is rumored to run the Android platform, yay! Asustek is responsible for the hardware and software according to information from a government site, which should make things interesting. The goal is for a robot that can interact with children visually, audibly, and with navigation..and of course through software integration. The projected timeframe once given the go ahead is several years, still very exciting news.

Well we all have read the hype over the last week about the Nexus One, and Googles reply of course. It seems that the rumors were true..and someone has leaked the ROM for Android 2.1 from the device. The guys over at Sholes.info have the files available if you want to try this yourself, but be aware there are issue present and you can damage your device if you mess something up. Do this at your own risk..that being said..look at the sweet boot animation!

The popular note taking application Evernote is being released for the Android platform, adding even more functionality to the already brilliant OS. Users are able to create text, voice and image notes, and attach them to emails and messages. Evernote also supports synchronization with the web service, so you can access your notes either way.

FRANKFURT/SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Google Inc plans to sell two versions of its own-branded cell phone: one with a service contract with T-Mobile USA and another that is unlocked, a source familiar with the matter said.

Apparently this guy swiped the device after someone "dropped" it, the videos aren't the greatest as he doesn't really know what he has in his hands, but you get the idea, and its proof that it exists!

Thanks to IntoMobile for the videos!
