Fellow Android news blog, AndroidandMe, received a leaked roadmap of HTC's upcoming devices and wow what a lineup. It appears that while HTC may have been the original Android device, they have always had more WinMo devices in their lineup. Well this roadmap says different, with five of the upcoming devices being Android operated and targeted at various preferences. Courtesy of BGR and one of their tipsters, some light has been shed on what could be the first Android iDEN device. Dubbed the Opus One, specifications are still unknown for this device, but as images have spilled out I imagine we will see a spec sheet shortly. This would mean PTT for the device, opening a new door for different users.

Anyone running Android knows that syncing Google information is a breeze, but what about everything else? What about your music, iTunes, movies etc? The Missing Sync steps in and fills the void.

Clear Channels popular radio application is slated for the Android platform by christmas, reports say. This new version will feature music videos and other on demand content as well, making the application even more desirable. The launch for the platform found Clear Channel and Verizon working together to integrate V Cast Music, so DROID owners can expect a special version once released that utilizes the Verizon network.

Google has recently announced its work on a visual search tool, which will allow you to take a photo from your Android device and receive search results from the Google service. This service uses a recognition software that was brought to the table by Hartmut Neven, owner of Neven Vision, a biometrichs startup that Google acquired in 2006. This visual search service is still in testing and undergoing changes, but keep your eyes peeled for it! Is this Googles answer to Microsofts Bing 2.0 visual search application that was originally used to target Google users, what an interesting battle between the giants!

Verizon announced today that its Droid HTC Eris will recieve an OS update early in 2010, bumping it up to 2.0 Eclair.This will bring Google Maps navigation to the Eris as well as other 2.0 features, adding to the HTC Sense UI and Flash support along with many other features already on the device. Kind of makes you wonder why the Eris did not ship with 2.0? Congratulations Eris owners!

As everyone knows, Twitter is probably the most popular social network around today, and it grows daily. Being able to use Twitter on the go has always been a huge selling point (even though its free lol) and there are literally hundreds of mobile applications to interface with Twitter, as well as desktop applications.
While reading my daily Android news updates, I stumbled upon a very interesting story over at AndroidandMe, throwing together some information and coming up with a very fascinating end result. I'm not saying it isn't a rumor, but its at least based off of factual information.
They ran through the Moto Cliq source code which was released recently and saw mention of several future Moto devices, including three that were on the leaked Moto roadmap. Then they found the codenamed device La Jolla, which is a community in San Diego where Motorola has offices, hence the codename (makes sense).

As you can see in this picture, this newest leaked device is very similar to the other leaked photos, except for the large bulge on the bottom right corner. It is not yet clear what purpose this will serve but we are very excited to find out what extra functionality this device will have, which appears will be prepped for distribution in China.

Software updates include new emulator skins for content creators which will assist them in creating applications for different screen sizes and resolutions, a very handy thing to have.It also includes an application that allows developers to test third party sync adapters, as well as some changes to the framework and interface.
Google has announced that all Android 2.0 devices will be running 2.0.1 by the end of the year. The 1.6 platform was also updated for developers, adding more needed functionality and permissions for creators.
