Verizon just let BGR know that an OTA update for the HTC DROID Eris is being pushed to handsets at about midnight this evening. The ROM is 1.16.605.1 and the radio version is 2.32.40.11.09 for those inquiring minds. Just as Motorola’s OTA update worked, the DROID Eris will as well — slowly to a small group of people, then expanding over the coming days. Here’s a brief list of some of the fixes and you can always check the documentation on Verizon’s site.

Verizon announced today that its Droid HTC Eris will recieve an OS update early in 2010, bumping it up to 2.0 Eclair. This will bring Google Maps navigation to the Eris as well as other 2.0 features, adding to the HTC Sense UI and Flash support along with many other features already on the device. Kind of makes you wonder why the Eris did not ship with 2.0? Congratulations Eris owners!

Phandroid was recently tipped off that Verion had created a list of issues they wanted to be fixed with the Moto DROID and the tipster also informed them an OTA update would be pushed out on December 11th. Now for those of you with the device(like myself) you have noticed one or two flaw but nothing major, but its good to see Verizion standing behind a device for once!
