The Moto XT701, dubbed the "Sholes Tablet", is debuting in China, and thanks to some tipsters and BGR...we now have a full spec list for the device.

Before there were fish, there was water. And before there was DROID, there was Devour. Thats right, the Motorola Devour was slated for release before the DROID, but something unknown slowed it down. But it appears that the device will still debut on Big Red, and hears the kicker...running Android 2.1! Now this is great news, but why did the DROID ship with 2.0 and get an update to 2.0.1 if 2.1 was so close to being ready? Is this why the Devour was held back, so it could release with 2.1? With Sprint reporting that their devices will get 2.1, will the DROID get some love in January?

It appears that AT&T is getting in on the Android love, with its first...the rumored Motorola Backflip/Enzo. The device ships with Android 1.5 and BLUR. Gotta love that keypad on the back though (see images below). Here are some oh so official specs:

AndroidandMe has revealed Motorola's planned Android Application store, SHOP4APPS. The store is reportedly web based and accessible by any Android device, as well as by desktop computer. Initially browsable online, Motorola has just recently removed the site for continued development. ETA is unknown at this time so stay tuned!

Milestone is now available through Expansys in the UK and reportedly moving 'fast', you can watch the accompanying video here. Boring, I reckon! No robots in sight.

Members of the AllDroid forums have apparently successfully rooted the Motorola DROID.This will provide root level Linux access to the device, giving the user added abilities. I am very eager to see what comes from this, and what all we can do! There is also a manual upgrade to 2.0.1 included with these files.

All haild Android! Google's OS has become a hit as the Motorola DROID was ranked number 1 on the gadget list in Times' "Top Ten of Everything" list for 2009. Coming in at number 2 was Barnes and Nobles "Nook", which is an e-reader that runs the Android OS as well. All in all, a very good year for Google and Android.

Courtesy of BGR and one of their tipsters, some light has been shed on what could be the first Android iDEN device. Dubbed the Opus One, specifications are still unknown for this device, but as images have spilled out I imagine we will see a spec sheet shortly. This would mean PTT for the device, opening a new door for different users.

While reading my daily Android news updates, I stumbled upon a very interesting story over at AndroidandMe, throwing together some information and coming up with a very fascinating end result. I'm not saying it isn't a rumor, but its at least based off of factual information.

They ran through the Moto Cliq source code which was released recently and saw mention of several future Moto devices, including three that were on the leaked Moto roadmap. Then they found the codenamed device La Jolla, which is a community in San Diego where Motorola has offices, hence the codename (makes sense).

As you can see in this picture, this newest leaked device is very similar to the other leaked photos, except for the large bulge on the bottom right corner. It is not yet clear what purpose this will serve but we are very excited to find out what extra functionality this device will have, which appears will be prepped for distribution in China.
